Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 February, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with the management of the Elsewedy Electric (Egypt), during which prospects for the implementation of joint projects and the introduction of innovative developments of the company in the energy sector of the country were discussed.

During the conversation, the company's management highly appreciated the large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years, thanks to which the investment climate is improving and investor confidence in our country is growing, the volume of attracted foreign direct investment is increasing.

At the meeting, the company presented innovative projects in the field of energy, implemented in 19 countries around the world, concerning, in particular, the construction of large energy facilities, high-voltage transmission lines, the creation of "green energy" facilities, the development of "smart" cities.

Elsewedy Electric was established in 1938. The company's turnover in 2021 amounted to US$3.8 billion. The main activities are the development and construction of energy facilities, the production of cables and electrical equipment, the introduction of digital technologies and investment in energy and infrastructure development. The total capacity of the projects implemented by the company is 35 GW. The company employs more than 17 thousand people.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed mutual readiness to continue cooperation and worked out a format for further cooperation in the framework of the elaboration and implementation of investment projects in Uzbekistan.
