Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The upcoming Tashkent Investment Forum is expected to bring together about 60 officials from Egypt, Jordan, Algeria and Morocco, heads of chambers of commerce and industry, Federation of Industrialists, Egyptian Association of Entrepreneurs, Associations of Pharmaceutical and Textile Manufacturers, Afroeximbank , Cairo Bank, Commerzbank, as well as the heads of companies in Egypt, Sudan and Jordan, Dunyo reported.

This is evidenced by the results of meetings and negotiations held by the Embassy of our country with the leadership of the above departments and organizations.

At the talks, Cairo Bank Vice President Amr Shafei confirmed the allocation of a US$10 million tranche to the National Bank of Uzbekistan as part of an interbank cooperation agreement from 5 September 2018.

According to the Uzbek diplomatic mission in Egypt, an agreement was reached on the preparation of a memorandum between Cairo Bank and Asakabank in the amount of US$10 million. The signing of the document is expected during the upcoming Tashkent forum.

During the meetings with the heads of Egyptian, Sudanese and Jordanian companies specializing in telecommunications, energy, mining, textile, pharmaceutical industries, as well as tourism and hotel business, invitations were sent with a package of documents on the development and implementation of joint investment projects.

As previously reported, the presentation of the Tashkent International Investment Forum was held in Cairo with the participation of numerous representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the capital of Egypt, Associations of manufacturers of textile, pharmaceutical and industrial products, Cairo Bank, Afroeximbank and Egyptian media.

The participants were informed about the preparations for the First International Investment Forum in Tashkent, organized on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The program and concept of the Tashkent Forum were presented to the audience, as well as a presentation of the investment and trade potential of Uzbekistan and project passports in various sectors of the economy.

Within the framework of the event, working meetings were held with the Chairman of the Committee on Energy and Ecology of the Egyptian Parliament Abdussalam Hadravi and Vice-President of the Association of Textile Manufacturers of Egypt Hamdi Abu al-Annein.
