Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the fiftieth plenary meeting of the Senate, senators considered the Law “On introducing additions and changes to the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on administrative responsibility, aimed at increasing the effectiveness of fire prevention.”

It was noted that despite the fact that systemic measures are being implemented in the field of fire prevention, unpleasant incidents with serious consequences associated with fires occur in the everyday life of the population and in the activities of business entities. Thus, in 2023, 10,204 fires occurred, as a result of which 251 citizens were injured, of whom 79 died, and damage amounting to 270.4 billion soums was caused to individuals and legal entities.

The law stipulates violation of fire safety requirements in forests by establishing administrative liability in the Code of Administrative Liability if this led to a fire. At the same time, in accordance with Article 38 of the Code, a person who has committed an administrative offense is not exempt from compensation for damage caused as a result of an administrative offense.

In addition, amendments have been made to the Code of Administrative Responsibility, which provide for an increase in the term of punishment applied to offenders who violate fire safety rules.

Another important feature. Exemption from liability is provided for persons who, through negligence or due to violation of fire safety rules, have experienced a fire in their housing that is not related to hcausing damage to human health or damage or destruction of other people’s property.

The senators noted that the adoption of the Law serves to prevent possible offenses related to fire safety in our country, as well as to ensure, on a humanitarian basis, the social protection of citizens found guilty of fires that occurred as a result of violations of fire safety rules in the housing stock, their apartment.
