Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Starting from the 2024/2025 academic year, the procedure for providing educational loans is changing in Uzbekistan. Now these loans will be issued exclusively to full-time students of higher and professional educational institutions. 

This procedure was established by a decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev from 27 May, which is aimed at more efficient use of budget funds to support students.

According to the decree, first-year university students and students of professional educational organizations will be able to receive an educational loan in the amount of the full cost of the contract, and second- and senior-year university students - in the amount of no more than 80% of the contract amount. At the same time, their academic performance must not be lower than a grade of “3”.

To obtain an educational loan, it is necessary to have student data in the information systems of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.

It will be possible to apply for an educational loan through the information system of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Unified Portal of Interactive Government Services.
