Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 23 September 2024, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov met with representatives of a delegation headed by the President of the Omani Investment Agency Abdusalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi.

During the discussion, the parties talked about projects being implemented in collaboration with the Omani Investment Agency, specifically the support of private companies and attracting investments, cooperation in the banking and financial sectors, job creation, and improving logistics.

The parties also exchanged views on the current economic processes in Uzbekistan, particularly macroeconomic stability, maintaining a stable inflation rate, ongoing economic reforms, including the transformation and privatization of state enterprises and joint-stock companies, the introduction of market relations, and the creation of a competitive environment in the energy sector, as well as changes in the use of non-agricultural land.

Simultaneously, projects implemented under the public-private partnership program were discussed, particularly the expansion of PPP projects in the energy sector, school construction, drinking water distribution, and improving pumping stations. It was emphasized that the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Measures for the Development of Public-Private Partnerships in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2024-2030" is an important step in the further development of the industry.

Following the negotiations, the parties agreed on the further development and elevation of mutually beneficial cooperation to a new level.
