Economic Court rejects appeal of UzJelDorPass
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
On 23 March, Appeal Board of the Supreme Economic Court of Uzbekistan retained the decision of the State Demonopolization Committee issued to UzJelDorPass [Uzbek Railway Passenger] on organization of tender on renting dining-cars to businesses to organize catering at trains.
After reviewing applications of businesses on rejection of UzJelDorPass OJSC on allocation of UzJelDorPass, State Demonopolization Committee ordered UzJelDorPass to organize tender on renting dining-cars.
State Demonopolization Committee and UzJelDorPass developed regulation on organization of tender on providing catering at dining-cars of UzJelDorPass. UzJelDorPass informed State Demonopolization Committee on preparation to tender, but it was note held.
State Demonopolization Committee opened case on violation of anti-monopoly law and creating barriers to businesses to enter the market and monopolization of catering services at trainings. The committee issued order to eliminate violations.
UzJelDorPass OJSC did not agree with the order and applied to Tashkent city Economic Court. But all three instances of the Economic Count confirmed decision of the State Demonopolization Committee.
UzJelDorPass now will be obliged to organize tender and ensure free access of business entities to catering service at passenger trains.
