Employees of Carlsberg Uzbekistan and young ecologists will clean up unique garden from garbage, which was accumulated during winter period.
Yevgeniy Shevchenko, director-general of Carlsberg Uzbekistan, said that the initiative, carried out by the company, is contribution to protection of environment and directed at preserving unique plants of the Botanic Garden. He added that each visitor should see wonderful flowers and trees, not garbage. He expressed hope that the initiative will be annual and more companies will join it.
This is not the first event of Carlsberg Uzbekistan directed at protection of environment. On 26 March 2011, Carlsberg Uzbekistan participated in global ecologic action “Earth Hour”, carried out by World Wild Nature Fund.
Botanical Garden of Uzbekistan Science Academy was created in 1943. The general plan of garden has been approved in 1953. The garden now is located at 66 hectares.
