Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, a meeting of the expert council of member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) began at the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Representatives of the transport industry of Turkey, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Iran and Central Asian countries are taking part in the meeting.

During the meeting, the draft Tashkent Declaration is discussed. Issues of developing mutual transport links between countries and further strengthening the level of cooperation were raised.

Experts exchange views on the relevance of ensuring the rapid implementation of long-term priorities for the development of economic cooperation in the region, strengthening cooperation in the field of transport and tourism between the OIC member states.

The Tashkent Declaration includes a number of issues, such as the development of the transport sector, digitalization of international transport corridors, including increasing the volume of multimodal and intermodal transport, especially taking into account the current conditions, geopolitical environment, sustainable socio-economic development, as well as the development of secure supply chains.
