EBRD: External debt of Uzbekistan makes up 13% to GDP

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- External debt of Uzbekistan made up 13% to the gross domestic product (GDP) in 2013, according to the data of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

According to the EBRD, external debt of private sector of Uzbekistan was only 4.9% from GDP in 2013. The short term external debt reached 0.7% from GDP in the reporting period.

At the same time, general government debt of Uzbekistan is equal to 8.6% from GDP. The volume of GDP of Uzbekistan made up US$56.5 billion in 2013.
