The sides exchanged views on development of small business and private entrepreneurship, tourism in Karakalpakstan.

Members of the delegation took part in the training seminar "Mechanisms of cooperation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development with small and medium-sized businesses" in Nukus.

At the event, with the participation of responsible persons from khokimiyats of districts and cities of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, representatives of commercial banks, entrepreneurs of Karakalpakstan and the Khorezm region, presentations were made on "Methods of supporting small and medium businesses by the EBRD", "Advice for the private sector", "Financing of the private sector through local financial institutions ".

In November 2017, a loan agreement for US$110 million was reached between the government of Uzbekistan and the EBRD.

In February 2018, a memorandum was signed on the financing of projects in the field of tourism and conservation of cultural heritage sites. Uzbekistan became the first country selected to participate in the Cultural Heritage project, for which the EBRD will allocate a total of 150 million euros.
