Earthquake with Magnitude 3.5 Recorded in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 9 July 2025, at 15:32:15 Tashkent time, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 was recorded on the territory of Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Seismic Prognostic Monitoring Center under the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The epicenter of the seismic event was located in the Nishan district of Kashkadarya region.

The intensity of the earthquake at the epicenter reached 4 points on the seismic scale. According to seismologists, the hypocenter was located at a depth of 10 kilometers. The geographical coordinates of the epicenter are 38.51°N latitude and 65.81°E longitude.

The strength of the tremors in the surrounding areas varied as follows:

Nishan district — 2–3 points (22 km from the epicenter);
Guzar district — 2 points (29 km);
City of Karshi — 2 points (37 km).

The distance from the epicenter to the capital city, Tashkent, was 422 kilometers to the southwest.

According to preliminary data, there were no casualties or damage reported.
