Earthquake hits northeastern Japan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A repeated earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 occurred in the northeast of Japan, according to the country’s main meteorological agency.

The shocks were recorded at 00.52 Thursday local time (18.52 Wednesday Moscow time). The epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred less than two hours after the massive 7.3 magnitude quake, was located east of the coast of Fukushima Prefecture. The hearth lay at a depth of 50 kilometers under water.

An earthquake of magnitude 7.3 occurred in the northeast of Japan in the Pacific Ocean near Fukushima Prefecture at 23.36 local time (17.36 Moscow time). A tsunami threat has been declared. The hearth lay at a depth of 60 kilometers.
