Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resolution of the President "On additional measures for the further development and wide promotion of e-sports" was adopted.

One of the main directions for the development of e-sports, according to the resolution, is the organization of republican and international championships and tournaments, as well as the establishment of worthy participation in prestigious international and regional e-sports competitions.

From 2023, traditional e-Sports will be held annually:

in April - the republican championship "Uzbekistan E-sports Championship";

in December - tournament "Cup of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan";

in June - the Youth Cup tournament.

The decision created the Interdepartmental Council for the further development and wide promotion of e-sports.

Also, the Program of Measures for the Further Development and Wide Popularization of Cybersports was approved, which envisages the phased elimination of the “ping” problem in cybersports.

At the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports, starting from the 2023/2024 academic year, the direction of undergraduate education "Sports activities: cybersport" will be opened, the duration of study in this direction is 3 years.

A decision was made to exempt from passing professional (creative) exams and assign the maximum score to cybersportsmen who are winners (1st place) in the last year at the republican championship "Uzbekistan E-sports Championship", starting from the 2023/2024 academic year, for the corresponding direction of undergraduate education.
