Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov has appointed Duyshenkul Chotonov as the new ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan, according to a statement from the press service of the head of state.
Duyshenkul Chotonov has extensive experience in public service and diplomacy. He previously served as a member of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz parliament) and led Kyrgyzstan’s diplomatic missions in South Korea and Vietnam from 2011 to 2015. Additionally, he held the position of Minister of Emergency Situations in the interim government of Kyrgyzstan.
Chotonov’s appointment as ambassador to Tashkent comes after the dismissal of Musa Dzhamanbaev, who headed Kyrgyzstan’s diplomatic mission to Uzbekistan from 2022 to October 2024.
