Dustov upsets third seeded Gil to enter last eight at Tashkent Challenger 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Wild card entrant and Local favorite Farrukh Dustov created the biggest upset of the event so far knocking out third seeded Frederico Gil of Portugal in straight sets, Top seeded Rainer Schuettler, eighth seeded Austrian Andreas Haider-Maurer and Gilles Muller from Luxemburg also made it to the last eight stage at the US$125,000 Tashkent Challenger, an ATP Challenger series event being played at the Olympic tennis Stadium.

In the second round played today Former World No 5 and 83rd ranked top seed Germany's Rainer Schuettler outplayed 219 ranked Austrian Alexander Peya 6-3, 6-4 in 1hr 19 mins , but Peya's country mate eighth seeded and 169th ranked Andreas Haider-Maurer survived a tough first set to stop wild card and local lad Murad Inoyatov 7-6(2),6-2 in 1 hrs and 17 mins.

Seventh seeded Gilles Muller from Luxemburg led 7-5,3-1 as Ukraine's Ivan Sergeyev retired due to injury after 54 mins in the match , while wildcard Farrukh Dustov currently ranked 383 ousted the third seed and 96th ranked Portuguese player Frederico Gil 6-4,6-1 in 1 hr and 21 minutes.

On a day when the matches in the top half were played the 6ft 5 inches tall Farrukh Dustov coming back from severe back injury which kept him away from the circuit for eight months stuck form to oust the third seeded Portuguese Davis cupper Frederico Gil 6-4,6-1 in straight sets.

Such was Farrukh's dominance over the match that after he broke Gil in the 9th game of the first set he broke him in the 1st ,3rd and 6th games in the second set to wrap the match in less that 1hour 30 mins and make it to the last eight stage. He will now face Muller Gilles in the quarterfinals.

"I was adjusted to the courts better today and really played well especially my serve" , said Dustov who had a strong 72% first serve today.
