Dushanbe is preparing to host the next Regional meeting of members of the dialogue of women leaders in Central Asia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 September, Dushanbe will host a regional meeting of members of the dialogue of women leaders in Central Asia on the theme "Achieving gender equality in the context of adaptation to climate change in Central Asia."

The meeting will take place within the framework of the upcoming fifth Consultative meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia and the next meeting of the Council of Heads of the Founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, Dunyo news agency reports with reference to NIAT Khovar.

The meeting will consist of two panel sessions on the topics “Achieving gender equality in the context of adaptation to climate change and natural disasters in Central Asia” and “Environmental initiatives in Central Asia in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals”.

On the issues discussed and related to the implementation of specific measures towards achieving gender equality in the context of adaptation to climate change in Central Asia, the participants will draw up recommendations for cooperation, and following the meeting, members of the dialogue of women leaders in Central Asia will issue a statement to the heads of state.

It is expected that the participants of the Regional Meeting of the Members of the Dialogue of Women Leaders in Central Asia and the official delegations of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will get acquainted with the exhibition of folk crafts at the National Museum of Tajikistan, visit the Kokhi Navruz complex and take part in the cultural program "Evening of Friendship ".

It is also planned to visit the guests of the Nurek HPP.

The Dialogue of Women Leaders of the Central Asian Countries was founded in December 2020 at the initiative of Uzbekistan in order to support the women of the region, increase their political, economic and social role and expand their opportunities to participate in the decision-making process related to sustainable development, and is unofficial regional platform.
