Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Telegram founder Pavel Durov shared his impressions of his trip to Uzbekistan, stating that he was amazed by the modern infrastructure of Tashkent and the mountain landscapes of Eastern Uzbekistan.

In his Telegram channel, Durov mentioned that he visited Uzbekistan this week and was thrilled by what he saw.

According to Durov, Telegram is incredibly popular in Uzbekistan, with over 70% of the country’s 37 million residents actively using the messenger, and a significant portion of the economy being managed through Telegram. He emphasized that every business in the country has its own bot or channel, expressing pride in the app’s widespread use.

Durov also noted that he was impressed not only by Tashkent’s infrastructure but also by the mountainous scenery of Eastern Uzbekistan, as well as the rich history of Bukhara and Samarkand.

He highlighted that he met many young, talented people with kind hearts, thanked them for their warm hospitality, and expressed hope to stay in sunny Tashkent for some more time this year.
