Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Uzbekistan, the State Security Service (SSS) together with law enforcement agencies continues active efforts against illegal drug trafficking.

In the Kibray district of Tashkent region, a 21-year-old private university student was detained for transporting 4.3 kg of the synthetic substance “alpha-PVP” on behalf of a drug trafficking group. A criminal case has been opened against him, and he has been placed in custody. Investigations are ongoing to identify his accomplices.

In the Nishan district of Kashkadarya region, authorities seized 247 cannabis plants and 27.708 kg of marijuana on the land of a local resident. A criminal case has been initiated, and the individual has been arrested; the investigation continues.

In the Urtachirchik district of Tashkent region, a Lacetti car driven by a former Interior Ministry employee was stopped. Inside were a Kazakh citizen and a local resident found with 979 g of hashish. During subsequent operations, their accomplices were also detained with 437 g of hashish. All detainees have been charged and placed in custody.

In Akhangaran, Tashkent region, two local residents were detained with 976 g of marijuana. Criminal proceedings have been initiated, and both have been placed in custody.

Investigations continue to identify and bring to justice all participants involved in drug-related crimes.
