Drivers to pay fines to cash desks
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a law "On introduction of changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan" on 29 December 2012, in line with which drivers will now pay fines only to cash desks.

The law was passed by Legislative Chamber on 9 November 2012 and approved by Senate on 5 December 2012. It came into force on 4 January 2013.

According to the law, a norm, which allowed fine drivers for violation of traffic rules in cash, was removed from the Code of Administrative responsibility.

Earlier, drivers could pay fine in cash if the size of penalty was not higher than one minimal size of salary and drivers do not contest the violation.

Now inspectors can fine only pedestrians in cash for violation of the traffic rules.

In line with the amendments, inspectors should register a protocol on administrative violation on all cases of violations of traffic rules, committed by drivers.

Earlier, inspectors do not register a protocol, if driver do not contest the violation and the fine does not exceed one minimal size of salary.
