Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A driver of a Chevrolet Lacetti has killed a child in Samarkand Region.

The incident occurred on 9 August in Jambay district, according to the Samarkand Region Department of Internal Affairs.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a four-year-old boy who was on the roadside. The child succumbed to his injuries.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, which addresses violations of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation leading to death.

Investigative actions are currently underway.
