Drinking water supply system to be created in 17 schools of Bukhara region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Drinking water supply system will be created in 17 schools of Bukhara region. Project partners are the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, Uzsuvtaminot JSC and UNICEF, the press service of the Zamin Foundation reports.

As part of the project, a turnkey drinking water supply and sanitation system will be created in 17 schools in the Bukhara region. The total number of students and employees of schools provided with clean drinking water will be 14,389 people.

As a result of the project implementation, about 70,000 residents of the settlements where schools are located will also get access to drinking water.

In September 2022, drinking water supply was improved in 16 schools in Ramitan and Shafirkan districts of Bukhara region.

It was noted that in 16 schools of the region, water supply systems from wells, water filtration and desalination to the level of safe drinking were installed. In addition, internal and external engineering networks of water supply, bathrooms and showers have been built. Local systems of biological wastewater treatment up to the irrigation level have also been created.

At the same time, residents of settlements where schools are located also received access to clean, safe drinking water.
