MPs, representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, ministries and state organizations, civil society institutes, and mass media participated in the event.
During the roundtable, the sides discussed issues of improving legislation bases for wide introduction of ICT into the state bodies, improving quality of interactive state services to population and businesses, as well as developing proposals and recommendations.
It was said that Uzbekistan created necessary legislative bases directed at developing ICT, in all spheres of economy, introduction of new services, e-document turnover, e-commerce, electronic payments, etc.
Currently, the state bodies provide 600 interactive services. Number of the state information resources reached 195 and registered information systems – 154.
Internet is becoming important tool for interaction of population and businesses with the government. About 20 new services were introduced to the single portal of interactive state services in the first quarter of 2014 and number of services offered via my.gov.uz reached 187.
At the roundtable, the participants considered a draft law “On electronic government”, which is aimed at improving provision of interactive state services, decreasing time and processes, as well as financial expenses of the populations and businesses, etc.
During the development of the law, Uzbekistan studied experience of Austria, United States, Germany, South Korea and Japan on electronic government.
The participants also considered opinion and proposals on the types of the state services and requirements to them, criteria of their assessment, setting legislative proposals, responsibility of officials, etc.
At the event, the participants considered proposals and recommendations on implementation of projects and measures on introduction of electronic government in Uzbekistan.
The participants of the roundtable adopted recommendations of further improving draft law “On electronic government”, introduction of ICT into state governance, and others.
