Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - At the World Weightlifting Championship in Tashkent, team of Uzbekistan won the first medal. Doston Yakubov, who competed in the weight category up to 67 kg, won several medals.
Doston Yakubov, lifting 144 kg in the snatch, won a silver medal. And in clean and jerk, our compatriot fought for the gold medal with Colombian Francisco Mosquera, and eventually won two exercises. These were the first medals for our national team at the home championship of the planet.
In this weight category, another Uzbek athlete, Adhamjon Ergashev, also fought uncompromisingly for medals in the snatch. Having shown worthy competition, the prize-winner of the Asian Games was awarded a small bronze with a result of 174 kg.
