Djeparov moves to FC Seoul
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In a major setback to Uzbekistan champions Bunyodkor, former AFC Player of the Year Server Djeparov has joined Korea League side FC Seoul on loan.

FC Seoul are currently third in the K-League with 27 points, a point adrift of leaders Jeju United, after 13 rounds.

The club announced Djeparov’s signing on its official website on Monday.

“He has a great killer instinct and can play as an attacking midfielder and striker also,” the Korean outfit said in a statement.

“He got fame from Korean fans when he scored two goals in the first leg of Bunyodkor’s AFC Champions League quarter-final last year.”

Djeparov, 27, said it was dream come true for him.

“I have wanted to play in the K-League since long and it’s an honour to play for FC Seoul which is one of the best teams in Korea,” Djeparov told the website.

“I saw Seoul’s matches in last year’s ACL. Though, they failed to reach the last four stage, they were very impressive,” added the Uzbek national team captain.

“I want to be a player who can help the team more than playing longer for them. I will do my best and try to show beautiful football. I hope the fans here will support me.”

The 28-year-old has scored eight goals in 58 AFC Champions League appearances for Pakhtakor and Bunyodkor. Djeparov has found the net 12 times in 61 matches for the national side.

Djeparov started his professional career with Navbahor in 2000 and joined the then domestic champions Pakhtakor in 2002. He moved to Bunyodkor in 2008 and helped them clinch the domestic double in the first season itself.

He was chosen as Asia’s best player in 2008 after he guided Bunyodkor to the 2008 AFC Champions League semi-finals when they lost to Australia’s Adelaide United 3-1 on aggregate.
