Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan held talks regarding the implementation of projects under the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) with Japan’s Sojitz Corporation.
The meeting was attended by Bahrom Salomov, General Manager of Sojitz, Assistant Manager Yusuke Mizuno, company representative Akbarjon Akramov, and officials from the Ministry’s Department for Green Economy Transition Coordination and Development.
At the beginning of the meeting, Sojitz provided a brief update on the current status of projects being planned for joint implementation with Uzbekistan.
The Japanese side proposed projects aimed at expanding the use of renewable energy sources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions under the JCM framework.
The Ministry expressed its readiness to support initiatives targeting emissions reduction and noted that these projects would be evaluated in accordance with the rules established for the JCM mechanism.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to foster cooperation under the JCM and continue discussions on future collaborations.
