Discussion on the construction of waste-to-energy plants in Ferghana and Namangan regions takes place

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Aziz Abdukhakimov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, met with Huang Haixin, Chairman of the Board of China Everbright Environment.

During the meeting, Abdukhakimov highlighted the strong friendship between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and President Xi Jinping of China, quoting the Chinese leader’s significant words on the importance of preserving nature: "We need green mountains and clear waters. They are our wealth."

The Minister shared his recent visit to China and expressed admiration for the modern waste-to-energy technologies, emphasizing the intention to implement this expertise in Uzbekistan. Specifically, the discussion focused on the construction of such plants in the Ferghana and Namangan regions. The Chinese side supported the acceleration of the project and will soon send a team of engineers to survey potential construction sites.

Additionally, discussions covered the processing of solid waste and the potential for generating electricity through waste incineration.
