Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in Uzbekistan focused on consultations and experience exchange regarding public-private partnership (PPP) programs for Turkmenistan.
The event was attended by representatives from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Economy and Finance, the government of Turkmenistan, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Among the participants were Serdar Ashirov, Head of the Economic Development Department of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan; Ilkhom Umrazakov, Director of the PPP Department at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan; Dmitry Kabrelyana, Senior Private Sector Development Specialist at ADB; and other officials.
During the meeting, information was shared on Uzbekistan’s experience with public-private partnerships, including projects implemented since 2019, their outcomes, and the legal framework created to support PPP programs.
The participants discussed the international partners actively cooperating with Uzbekistan in this area, their importance, as well as the processes involved in developing PPP projects and their key components.
The discussion also covered Uzbekistan’s work in tax management, including the creation of a favorable environment and provision of incentives for entrepreneurs to support the private sector.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop mutually beneficial and effective cooperation, as well as to expand the exchange of views and experiences.
