Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Today, on 25 June, at the initiative of CRPT TURON, the operator of the National Digital Marking System ASL BELGISI, a seminar was held on the topic “Digital Marking of Aluminum Cans”.
This event was dedicated to the mandatory introduction of digital marking for beverages in aluminum cans, which will come into effect on 1 August 2024.
The seminar focused on exploring technologies and solutions related to digital marking of aluminum cans. Participants had the opportunity to receive practical recommendations on preparing for the marking launch, discuss current issues, and participate in B2B meetings. Among the seminar participants were representatives of the Tax Committee, representatives of the Marking System Operator, major producers and importers of water and soft drinks, integration companies, as well as representatives of the mass media.
Digital marking is an automated system for monitoring product circulation. Information about each product is stored in an electronic database that can be scanned by both consumers and manufacturers. Digital marking protects the interests of buyers by enabling consumers to access comprehensive product information, thereby reducing the risk of purchasing unsafe or low-quality goods.
It is noteworthy that in Uzbekistan, digital marking has already been applied to beer products in aluminum cans for three years. During the seminar, one of the largest producers shared their experience of implementing marking on aluminum cans at their plant.
The implementation of digital marking is a powerful tool for cleaning up the market and combating counterfeit goods, ensuring fair and transparent trade. Placing a Data Matrix code on product packaging protects legitimate businesses and consumer interests, while also contributing to increased tax revenues to the state budget.
The marking system has been implemented in Uzbekistan since 2020 and currently covers six categories of goods: pharmaceuticals, household appliances, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, beer products, as well as water and soft drinks.
