Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Nisso Yakhshimuradova was appointed to the post of the director of the Center for Contemporary Art in Tashkent (CCA), the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan said.
Nisso participated in the launch of the Zot Center project, was the ideologist and executive director of LOBBY Moscow, and also implemented sponsorship cultural projects of VTB Bank (The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Boris Eifman Ballet Theatre).
Before its official opening, the Center operates in test mode. Among its first projects is CCA LAB. This research laboratory aims to develop contemporary art and cultural practices in Uzbekistan, as well as to formulate new readings and a new understanding of the artistic heritage of the region. Under the guidance of international curators, CCA LAB participants gain hands-on professional experience working on projects, including Tashkent Encounters, a series of interdisciplinary meetings dedicated to film, music and performance.
