Director of MICA: "Tajikistan can rightly be considered as one of the important key links in the integral region that is being formed in Central Asia"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 March 2023, in Dushanbe, Director of the International Institute of Central Asia (MICA) Vladimir Norov took part in an international scientific and practical conference on the topic: "Tajikistan - Central Asia: a policy of good neighborliness, mutual assistance, eternal friendship and joint development”.

As the director of MICA noted, this meeting is taking place on the eve of the international holiday of Navruz - the traditional new year of the peoples of Central Asia, a symbol of peace and kindness, the triumph of humanism and the tradition of good neighborliness, which for thousands of years has promoted the development of integration, friendship and mutual understanding, honoring unity and solidarity.

“Today our region is united not only by a single history, culture, traditions and values, but also by common challenges and a vision of development prospects.”

According to the director, thanks to the active participation of Dushanbe in the work created six years ago, the platform for Consultative Meetings, our fraternal countries in a short time managed to form the goals and objectives of the cooperation format, start moving towards the consolidation of the region.

“It is no coincidence that at the next meeting of our leaders in 2021 in Avaza, the President of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon, was awarded the first highest award - the “Honorary Badge of the Heads of State of Central Asia” for outstanding services in the development of friendship, good neighborliness, mutual understanding and cooperation, for strengthening peace and security in the region, promotion of common interests and initiatives of our countries in the international arena”.

It was emphasized that the upcoming fifth anniversary Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia, which will be held this year in Dushanbe, will undoubtedly "demonstrate the desire of the parties to build up ties, give additional impetus for further rapprochement of relations that have acquired a fundamentally new, systemic and dynamic character."
