Director of BISI: Close cooperation of “think tanks” of Uzbekistan and Belarus to allow to develop new approaches to the development of cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Speaking at a round table on the topic “Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus - new horizons and prospects,” the director of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Studies (BISI) Oleg Makarov highly appreciated the high-level of relations achieved by the two states, which was achieved largely thanks to the active work of the leaders of the two states.

In his opinion, despite the geographical distance, Uzbekistan and Belarus are united by the complementarity of economic potential and similarity of views on the development of bilateral interaction. “Today, the goals of both countries coincide in their interest in increasing the pace of industrial cooperation, cooperation in the field of agriculture, tourism and education,” the expert emphasized.

From the point of view of the Belarusian expert, Tashkent and Minsk are inevitable partners who have never let each other down. “Two distinctive states act as natural poles of attraction in Eurasia,” says Oleg Makarov.

The director of the BISI expressed confidence that the close joint expert work of the “think tanks” of Uzbekistan and Belarus will allow us to develop new approaches to the development of cooperation between the two countries.

The round table, held on 30 January in Tashkent in a hybrid format, was organized by the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in partnership with BISI.

The event was attended by the heads of diplomatic missions in Uzbekistan and Belarus, leadership and representatives of expert-analytical and scientific-academic circles of the two countries.
