Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, at the initiative of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Tashkent State Economic University hosted an international conference "Strategies for the development of higher education in Uzbekistan and Poland" with the participation of rectors of higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Poland.

Rectors of more than 30 higher educational institutions, representatives of ministries and departments of Uzbekistan took part in it. The Polish side was attended by Minister of Education and Science Przemysław Czarnek, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Uzbekistan Radoslav Gruk, presidents of the Council of Rectors of Polish Higher Educational Institutions Arcadius Meziuk and rectors of over 10 higher educational institutions of Poland.

The conference was opened by First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Komiljon Karimov, who welcomed the guests. Regarding relations between the two countries, the dynamic development of cooperation in the field of higher education was emphasized, and such conferences serve to bring relations to a new level.

The speakers stated that the purpose of the conference is to consolidate cooperation between the two countries in the areas of socio-political and cultural-humanitarian relations, higher and professional education, science and innovation, in particular, the development of student mobility programs and academic exchanges, the exchange of achievements in the field of information technology and innovation.

The lectures noted such issues as improving the quality of training in universities of Uzbekistan based on the experience of Poland, developing scientifically based proposals and recommendations to achieve the goals set in the development strategy of New Uzbekistan, creating a platform for the exchange of scientific ideas and scientific and practical experience of international and domestic specialists dissemination of the results achieved among the general public.

The conference was held in two sections on the creation of platforms for cooperation between higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Poland.
