“Digital Technology Center” opens in Namangan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Based on the instructions given by the President of Uzbekistan during a visit to Namangan region from 28 February to 1 March, the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications developed a concept for creating “Digital Technology Center” in all cities and areas of the region.

The creation of the first digital center in the republic in the administrative building of the Namangan city telecommunications center of Uzbektelecom JSC was the first practical step in this direction, the press service of Uzbektelecom said.

The opening ceremony of the Digital Technologies Center was attended by representatives of state and public organizations, educational institutions and specialists in this field. First Deputy Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications, Olimjon Umarov, in his speech noted that the Center has a number of promising goals, including teaching young people the basics of innovative entrepreneurship in the field of information technologies and e-commerce. It also provides for focusing on such issues as the organization of training courses on information technology for entrepreneurs and the public, the development of civil servants in the field of information and computer technology, the study of computer technology, programming, the fundamentals of robotics and eSports.

The center is equipped with computer classes, a conference room, a videoconferencing studio and rooms for the administration of the Center. Over a thousand young people will be trained in classrooms this year, equipped with more than 20 pieces of computer equipment.

The training center supports the entire development process from the development of entrepreneurship in the field of IT and the launch of start-up projects to the phase of their commercialization. In addition, the Center plans to organize additional day and evening courses for khokimiyats, state and economic bodies, as well as business entities and the public in the field of information technologies.
