“Digital Technologies Center” opens in Mirzaabad district of Syrdarya region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Information and communication technologies are progressively developing in our country. This, in turn, increases the need for qualified specialists to achieve sustainable development of the industry. At a video conference chaired by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 19 March 2019, special attention was paid to increasing the attention of young people and improving their skills in using information technologies.

In particular, the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications was commissioned to create a network of Digital Learning Centers in all cities and districts based on international best practices. In these centers, the basics of e-commerce and programming will be provided free of charge, future information technology entrepreneurs will be trained in innovative skills, and start-up projects will be supported accordingly.

Based on this initiative, the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications developed the concept of creating such centers in all districts and cities of Syrdarya region.

On 22 March, the Digital Technologies Center opened in the administrative building of Mirzaabad regional telecommunications center of Syrdarya regional branch of Joint Stock Company Uzbektelecom.

It is noteworthy that in a short time, the ministry took organizational measures to launch the Center for digital technologies and entrepreneurship in the field of information technologies in Mirzaabad district of Syrdarya region, equipped with modern computers and the necessary equipment.

The opening of this center during the celebration of the national holiday Navruz was a worthy holiday gift for the youth of Syrdarya region.

The center, located in the Mirzaabad district, will serve as a kind of bridge between the Centers, which will open in the cities and districts of the region, and the Muhammad al-Khwarzmiy Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Inha University in Tashkent, and the Technopark, which will be organized on the basis of a leading Indian experience.

The Center for Youth will organize training courses on information technology, programming, robotics, the basics of eSports, and innovative e-commerce entrepreneurship. In this Center in 3 age groups - from 9 to 15, from 16 to 19 and from 20 to 25 years, young people will gradually be trained as qualified specialists in the field of information and communication technologies.

In addition, the Center plans to attract young people to computer sports (eSports), teach eSports rules, form groups for various games, organize team trainings, conduct competitions at the national level.

The opening ceremony of the Digital Technologies Center was attended by representatives of state and public organizations, educational institutions, and specialists in this field.
