The event is organized by the Public Fund on Support of NGOs and other civil society institutes under Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Independent Institute on monitoring of formation of civil society, National Association of NGOs of Uzbekistan, Social Initiatives Support Fund, Fond Forum, UNICEF and UNDP Offices in Uzbekistan.

Foreign experts of the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law (USA), Regional Office of UNICEF for Eastern Europe, Japan International Cooperation Agency, UNDP, OSCE, USAID, offices of foreign NGOs in Uzbekistan, MPs and Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, ministries and departments and others are participating at the event.

The event is aimed at informing foreign experts with ongoing reforms on ensuring independence and sustainable development of civil society, discussing issuing of social-economic support of development of civil society in Uzbekistan, popularization of Uzbekistan’ experience in this area, harmonization of international norms and standards into laws of Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, the participants will also discuss draft law “On social partnership” and a draft law “On public control”. They will also consider proposals and considerations on their improvement.

During the conference, the participants will also discuss proposals on further development and improvement of activities of NGOs. Participants noted that it is necessary to improve activity and legal knowledge of NGO representatives in social partnership, conduct public control, etc.
