Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Denau district of Surkhandarya region, deputy school director is accused of sexual abuse of a 9th grade student, Telegram channel Nemolchi.uz reports.

According to information from Kun.uz, the criminal acts continued for a year. The girl’s parents learned about the incident in September 2024 and immediately contacted law enforcement agencies.

The accused was detained and a criminal case was opened against him. The Commissioner for Children’s Rights confirmed the incident and said that she is personally monitoring the investigation. She emphasized that the investigative actions are being carried out taking into account the protection of the rights of the minor, and the details of the case are not subject to disclosure in the interests of the victim.

The case materials have been transferred to the court, the hearings will be held behind closed doors. The Children’s Rights Commissioner assured that the case is under close attention, and the rights and interests of the injured girl will be carefully protected.
