Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 July, Deputy Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan Muzraf Ikramov held a meeting with the Director of the Department for Countries in Transition and Developed Countries at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Habib Asan in Geneva.

The meeting took place within the framework of the 65th session of the General Assembly of WTO member states.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Muzraf Ikramov briefed on the intellectual property reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years, the progress made, achieved positive outcomes, and future plans.

The Deputy Minister also expressed gratitude to WIPO for its support in harmonizing national legislation on intellectual property with WTO requirements, as part of Uzbekistan's efforts to join the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Habib Asan highly appreciated the work carried out in Uzbekistan in this field, noting the practical efforts of the country in joining international intellectual property agreements and combating violations in this area.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the directions of cooperation between Uzbekistan and WIPO and discussed future plans.
