Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 July, Deputy Minister of Finance Jamshid Abruev met with representatives of the World Bank, including international consultant on healthcare financing Okore Okorafor, leading economist David Stephen Knight, regional Manager and international consultant Sanman Kwon, healthcare specialist Behruz Yusupov.

At the meeting, representatives of the World Bank were informed about the results of the study of the pilot project on the introduction of public health insurance mechanisms in Syrdarya region as part of the strategy for the development of the health system, as well as about the latest reforms in the field of health financing.

In his speech, Jamshid Abruev noted the importance for Uzbekistan of the work of World Bank experts and the experience of developed countries in financing the health system.

The parties discussed issues of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation and agreed to organize such meetings regularly.
