Deputy Economy Minister: Uzbekistan and WB to implement projects for US$5.7bn
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
The Government of Uzbekistan and the World Bank are planning to implement projects for US$5.7 billion by 2020, the First Deputy Minister of Economy of Uzbekistan Botir Khodjaev said on 23 April 2015.
According to the Uzbek official, the projects will be implemented within new strategy of partnership of the World Bank with Uzbekistan till 2020, which is currently under development.
Botir Khodjaev said the projects for over US$3 billion will be realized in the energy sector.
He recalled that Uzbekistan attracted US$1.6 billion funds of the World Bank within the curreny implemented projects, of which 40% fell to share of energy sector and raising energy efficiency.
