Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, a working meeting was held with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.

A wide range of topics were discussed, including assistance in the implementation of large projects in strategic sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan, as well as issues of logistics and the development of bilateral trade.

The Deputy Prime Minister - Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia noted that mutual trade is showing good dynamics, and over the past year an increase of 12% was registered, reaching US$9.7 billion. In January of this year, trade volume amounted to more than US$713 million, which means an increase of about 13%.

The meeting also discussed steps to develop joint projects in various industries, including pharmaceuticals, nuclear energy, transport and heavy engineering, as well as standardization issues.

During the meeting with the co-chairman of the Russian-Uzbek Commission on Economic Cooperation, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojaev, issues of industry interaction, including energy, industrial cooperation, renewable energy sources, logistics and the development of transport corridors were discussed.
