Denis Istomin reaches second round of US Open

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan number one Denis Istomin had to fight back to defeat Ryan Sweeting (USA) in the first round clash of the US Open.

The match lasted 2 hours and 47 minutes. Denis Istomin lost the first set with the score 6/3 despite he was leading in the set beginning.

The Uzbek player claimed next three sets in tough match to claim the ticket to next round – 7/5, 6/4 and7/6 (7/4).

In the second round, Denis Istomin will play against France’s Julien Benneteau.
