Denis Istomin advances to third round of ATP Washington

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan number one Denis Istomin advanced to the third round of the Citi Open in Washington, the United States. The prize fund of the tournament is about US$1.4 million.

The fifteenth seeded of the tournament defeated Bernard Tomic of Austria in straight sets with the score 6:4, 7:6 (8:6).

The match lasted an hour and 29 minutes. Istomin broke his opponent three times and served four aces. He committed two double faults. Tomic, in his turn, twice broke Istomin and served 11 aces.

In the third tournament, Denis Istomin will face either Donald Young (USA) or Julien Benneteau (France).
