Denis Istomin advances to second round of St.Petersburg Open

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan number one Denis Istomin advanced to the second round of St.Petersburg Open in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

In the first round, Denis Istomin defeated Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan in three sets - 7/6(4), 2/6 and 6/2.

The match lasted 2 hours and 7 minutes. Istomin recorded eight aces against two of Kukushkin. Both players recorded three break points and two double faults each.

In the second round, Istomin will face Benjamin Becker of Germany.
