Dempo 0-4 Nasaf Karshi
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Nasaf Karshi exposed the gulf in difference between themselves and the rest of Group A with a classy 4-0 demolition of hosts Dempo Sports Club at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex on Tuesday.

The Uzbekistan side scored twice in each half but two goals inside the opening 11 minutes had effectively killed off the match as a contest. Dempo were completely outplayed and did not have a single shot on target.

The win leaves Nasaf in an enviable position in Group A with a maximum of nine points from three matches. The Uzbek League co-leaders – with four wins and a draw in five matches – started their campaign with a 3-0 win over Lebanon’s Al Ansar and then followed it up with a tough 3-2 triumph away to Al Tilal in Yemen.

Dempo, on the other hand, are left with just three points from their opening win against Al Tilal and will now have a mountain to climb to qualify for the last-16 stage of the competition.

Ilhom Yunusov started the goal rush with the match just four minutes old and seven minutes later, Nasaf had doubled their money after Lutfulla Turaev struck a beautiful volley from close range that left Dempo goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani rooted to the spot.

Nasaf continued with their strong start and had an Andrejs Pereplotkins effort from long range gone in, or Botir Karaev's powerful shot not been saved by Kattimani, the match would have been declared well and truly over.

After the double setback, Dempo regained their composure and tried to take control of proceedings. They came up with some good moves but lacked the quality up front to breach a strong Nasaf defence, led by captain Karaev.

Nasaf goalkeeper Murotjon Zukhurov had absolutely nothing to do through the 90 minutes of play as Dempo did not manage to hit a single shot on target.

Dempo’s Nigerian striker Ranti Martins had two wayward attempts and Brazilian Beto had a good look at the goal on two occasions but ended up firing way too high both times.

In the second period, the script remained the same as Nasaf continued to dominate and even though they had a two-goal lead, appeared hungry for more.

The visitors put the match beyond Dempo’s reach in the 72nd minute when substitute Shuhratbek Mirhoidirshaev produced a low strike that found the back of the net.

There was more misery for Dempo as Pereplotkins hammered the final nail in the proverbial coffin with eight minutes to go.

Mirhoidirshaev's shot was initially blocked by Dempo defender Mahesh Gawli but it fell to the feet of the midfielder, who applied the finishing touch.
