Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Jamshid Egamberdiev visited South Korea.
Representatives of Uzbekistan held a number of meetings and visited research centers in the field of information technology.
The delegation of Uzbekistan held talks with the Deputy Ministry of State Administration and Security of the Republic of Korea Han Chang Sob.
The parties discussed the progress of the project on the development of e-government and the digital economy in Uzbekistan, as well as the work of the bilateral group within its framework. In 2020, the South Korean government has already allocated US$1 million for the project.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding to continue the project for 2023.
The delegation of Uzbekistan also visited the Korean Center for Financial Technologies and met with its chairman, Pyon Yong Han. The parties discussed the work of the center as an authorized body of the Republic of Korea in the field of financial technologies (fintech).
The parties signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of financial technologies and digital economy in Uzbekistan.
The delegation of Uzbekistan also held meetings and negotiations with representatives of KOICA.
