Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Surkhandarya region began its working visit to China from the city of Harbin, Heilongjiang province, Dunyo news agency reported.

During their trip, the Uzbek delegation headed by the first deputy khokim of Surkhandarya region Anvar Oripov met with the deputy governor of Heilongjiang province Yu Jian.

At the talks, the parties discussed topical areas of cooperation. In particular, agreements were reached on developing cooperation in the fields of agriculture, mining, animal husbandry, industry, tourism and bilateral trade, establishing fraternal ties between regions, developing and implementing joint investment projects.

The area of Heilongjiang province reaches 454.8 thousand square kilometers, the population is 30.9 million people. The gross regional product (GRP) is US$224 billion. In the first half of the year, the foreign trade turnover reached US$20.8 billion. Agriculture and the food industry are developed in the province, and China's largest plantations of rice, soybeans and corn are located here.
