Within the visit, the delegation of Uzbekistan held meetings with the Deputy State Secretary on external economic relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland Matti Anttonen, Director-General of Tax Administration of Finland Pekka Ruuhonen, Director-General of tax department of Ministry of Finance of Finland Terhi Järvikare.

The Finnish side were familiarized with investment climate, tax preferences, provided to foreign investors and companies, in Uzbekistan.

Finnish Tax authorities received information on main directions of tax policy and reforms, conducted in Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek side underlined interest in attracting Finnish companies and firms to joint projects in economy of Uzbekistan with attraction new technologies and know-how of Finland.

It was underlined that strengthening international cooperation, creation of favourable investment climate and business environment, political-economic stability serve as important factor for attracting foreign investments into Uzbekistan.

The sides affirmed mutual interest in further developing bilateral cooperation in tax sphere.

Uzbekistan and Finland signed a protocol on introduction of changes to the agreement between two states on avoiding double taxation and preventing evasion from payment of income tax on 8 March 2016.

Chairperson of the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan Botir Parpiev and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland Timo Soini signed the document.
