Delegation of the Ministry of Mining and Geology returns from China

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation led by Deputy Minister of Mining and Geology and General Director of Navoi Uranium Compan  Jamal Faizullaev has returned from the People’s Republic of China.

During the visit, meetings were held with the leadership of the China Atomic Energy Agency and the China National Energy Administration. The negotiations covered issues related to the development of bilateral cooperation, including agreements signed between the Ministry of Mining and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and major uranium corporations of the People’s Republic of China during the visit of our head of state to China in January 2024.

Specialists from Navoi Uranium visited the scientific centers "BRICEM CNUC" (geology) and "BRIUG CNUC" (technology) within the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) and reviewed the ongoing projects and implemented technologies.

During the foreign trip, they familiarized themselves with the activities of enterprises engaged in the conversion and enrichment of uranium products, complexes for the production of fuel for nuclear power plants, and new innovative technologies used by CNNC. Discussions were also held with the corporation’s management regarding the implementation of these technologies in our republic to create value-added products.

As a result of the trip, a trilateral agreement was signed between the Ministry of Mining and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Navoi Uranium, and CNUC, a subsidiary of CNNC, to conduct geological exploration on prospective areas in our republic. Additionally, a Memorandum was signed to establish an innovative scientific and technological center for the exploration and extraction of uranium and other valuable elements.

To ensure the implementation of the signed documents, an agreement was reached for representatives of CNNC to visit Uzbekistan in September of this year and commence work.
