Tashkent State Oriental Studies Institute has been cooperating with Cambridge Central Asia Forum since 2010 within the project of the British Council “International partnership in education sector INSPIRE”.

Jahon reported that the partnership envisages joint implementation of project “Past and current Great Silk Road”, which is designed for three years and includes historic, geopolitical and geoeconomic aspects of the Great Silk Road.

Within the project, the sides made mutual visits. In February 2011, the delegation of Cambridge Central Asia Forum led by its chairperson Prof. Siddharth Saxena paid visit Uzbekistan.

During the visit, the Uzbek delegation familiarized with colleges of Cambridge University and held meetings with officials of several faculties and research centers of the British university.

After the talks, the sides agreed to develop and start intensive courses of the Uzbek language at the faculty of Asian and Middle East Studies of Cambridge University.

The report said that the visit was held in spirit of mutual beneficial cooperation and become important stage for strengthening partnership between two educational establishments, which open new opportunities for further scientific, educational and research projects.
