Delegation from Ferghana region visits Omsk region to discuss cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation led by Khokim of Ferghana Region, Khayrullo Bozorov, paid an official visit to the Omsk Region of the Russian Federation. The delegation met with officials from the Omsk regional administration during the visit.

The main topics of discussion included cooperation prospects in areas such as education, tourism, industry, agricultural product exports, employment, and more.

Khokim Khayrullo Bozorov highlighted that relations between Uzbekistan and Russia are currently at a new level of strategic partnership. He noted that Ferghana Region is home to 122 enterprises with Russian participation, and that 26 projects were implemented last year, attracting US$113 million in direct investments.

Key areas for further development included joint trade and economic projects, tourism development, agricultural product exports, information technologies, and healthcare. Proposed initiatives included exhibitions, forums, and craft events between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two regions, as well as invitations for Omsk entrepreneurs to visit Ferghana to explore the region's economic and investment opportunities.

Plans were discussed for creating dual education programs between universities in the Omsk Region and Ferghana, as well as preparing specialists in medicine with opportunities for practical experience.

Vitaly Khotsenko, Governor of the Omsk Region, expressed his intention to continue developing cooperation between the two regions and to implement joint programs and projects.

During the visit, the delegation toured the Omsk Innovative Technologies Plant, specializing in the production of central heating boilers, and the "Makosh" industrial zone, where agricultural products are processed and a developed logistics infrastructure exists.

Meetings with business leaders and local investors led to the identification of priority areas for cooperation, and specific measures were taken to implement joint projects.
